Duties

Help
  • Assign the immediate tasks to be performed by individual subordinates.
  • Ensure that plans, blueprints, material and tools are available for jobs.
  • Check work in progress for compliance with the standard operating procedures.
  • Answer questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives.
  • Provide information to the supervisor on causes of delays, overall work operations and problems.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrician Leader without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common duties which include passing on directions to several employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with electrician work. I can assign the task to be performed for proper electrician procedures, methods or techniques. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to and occasionally 20 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works inside buildings, shops, and outside. Subject to contact with dirt, dust, and grease; shocks and bums from high voltage; cuts and bruises.

  • Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
