Duties

Help

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/ENTARCH) at the GS-2210-4 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Manage, operate, and sustain a secure, scalable hybrid cloud architecture integrating on-premise and government cloud (AWS/Azure) environments, using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) to automate the deployment of cloud and container resources.
  • DevSecOps, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) methodologies, containerization best practices, managing container images in registries, and deploying applications.
  • Champion DevSecOps by integrating container security scanning and image hardening into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, JFrog Artifactory) to ensure compliance with Zero Trust principles and DoD Cloud security standards.
  • Serve as a liaison to Missile Defense System (MDS) and lead a technical subject matter expert on cloud technologies, providing guidance to stakeholders on best practices for containerization, microservices architecture, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation by developing scripts (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript) to streamline the management, monitoring, and operational workflows of containerized environments.

  • This is an Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program Position coded Level II in the IA Workforce System Architecture and Engineer Category.
  • Selectee must have at the time of permanent selection or achieve certification within 6 months of EOD.
  • This is an acquisition position coded Practitioner in Engineering and Technical Management. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back-to-Basics (BtB) certification within 60 months of entry into position.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS 04 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 3 of the 4 specialized experience listed below to be qualified:

  • Migrating applications to a cloud (hybrid preferred) environment.
  • Experience in CSP technologies (AWS and Azure preferred) enabling faster and more cost efficient solutions for end users.
  • Experience in principles of automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to automate processes and procedures across the environments.
  • Managing DevOps principles, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

DAWIA (Back to Basics) Certification: NON-CAP: Position requires DoD Acquisition Engineering and Technical Management, Practitioner certification. Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 60 months after entry into this position. This is an Information Assurance Workforce/Cybersecurity position coded Level II in the IA Workforce System Architecture and Engineer Category.
