Help

Responsible for planning, directing, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program in support of a variety of MCCS program functions. Utilizes a variety of communication methods and techniques, to include oral, written, visual, and personal media for the purpose of informing the general public about the programs, services, special events and policies sponsored by or affiliated with MCCS operations. Develops and utilizes a variety of ideas and concepts designed to enhance awareness and utilization of MCCS facilities and services. May assist with writing articles, organizes press releases in support of a comprehensive marketing program for MCCS, for base newspaper and trade publications: reviews tracking information of publications for information, dissemination, and coverage. May organize, tabulate, track and research primary data, including demographics for surveys, focus groups, etc. Responsible for entering survey data and producing reports. Assists in communication and promotional requirements, which may include developing exhibits, brochures, calendars, and posters and other public relations activities for the department. Initiates and prepares routine correspondence such as letters, memoranda, and messages using a computer and various software. May assist in the preparation of financial plans and related records and/or reports. Personally responds to routine telephone inquiries and routine mail. Assists with the coordination of MCCS publicity through newsletters, newspaper, Plans of the Day, brochures, posters, and other media sources. Assists branch head and staff members by performing various marketing, clerical, and administrative tasks. 

Responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, contracting, administering, and monitoring of the commercial sponsorship program without personal signature authority. Develops a diversified commercial sponsorship program. Solicits sponsorship through advertisements, letters, and personal contacts. Develops collateral materials in support of the solicitation. Develops proposal packages and negotiates best terms for MCCS. Initiates contracts and ensures they are agreed to/signed by the appropriate person. Drafts sponsorship agreements and coordinates staff actions with the appropriate agencies, such as legal counsel. Ensures the development and completion of evaluation/follow-up reports. Develops training and education materials on event marketing and commercial sponsorship for MCCS departments. 

Responsible for the over-all administration and effective management of the MCCS Special Events Program. Develops, implements, and manages a variety of special events to serve the military families. Creates and disseminates Letters of Instruction (LOIs), and handles logistical details. Handles all financial matters of the program as well as its marketing. Prepares and proposes comprehensive operating budget to support on-going activities and projected special events. 

Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget. Monitors programs on a regular basis, and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Manages new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develops long range plane in conjunction with internal operating directives. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. 

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year degree with a major in Marketing required. Minimum of four years related background that demonstrates experience directly related to the above duties. Strong computer skills. Demonstrated experience in the use of a variety of informational marketing and media methods such as graphic arts, design, illustration, photographs, computers, broadcast, Photoshop, etc. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must possess solid organizational and detail-oriented expertise and the ability to handle numerous projects at one time. Must be skilled in using a variety of communication and informational media methods and techniques to stimulate interest of a variety of publics, which have different levels of understanding. Must be able to identify the characteristics of target audiences and determine the most effective sources, methods, and techniques to use in reaching patrons. Ability to analyze the results of information gathering techniques, surveys, inquiries, etc. to improve upon existing systems. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
