The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo CA is searching for a Contract Performance Data Analyst for SYD 810 (GS-0501-7 target 12).

Description:
This is a 3-year developmental internship position performing financial management, data analysis and research studies on industry contractor data. Candidates start at a GS-07, and are eligible for annual advancement to 09, 11 and eventually 12 with acceptable performance of job duties. There are also opportunities to pursue advanced education in year 3.

Ideal Candidate:
Any degree but must have at least 24 semester hours in a combination of data analytics, operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of cost analysis techniques and procedures applicable to all phases of an acquisition program from initial development through sustainment and disposal.
2. Knowledge of engineering and technical terminology sufficient to allow an effective interchange of technical information and its cost implications and application.
3. Knowledge of commonly used financial management, procurement, and acquisition methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes. 4. Knowledge of the Programming, Planning, and Budgeting System policies, procedures, and documentation. 5. Knowledge of cost and schedule performance measurement concepts.
6. Skill in describing the results of contractor cost and schedule performance analysis.
7. Ability to gather, assemble, analyze, and normalize data to prepare financial cost estimates, develops alternatives, funding requirements, and makes recommendations to resolve financial/funding problems.
8. Ability to adapt models and techniques to changing program requirements; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, advocate, and/or advise on financial processes, actions, and decisions.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / relocation funding is authorized.
  • The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA.) requirements applicable to the duties of the position
  • This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Developmental Program (APDP).
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year.
  • Employee is expected to meet Continuing Acquisition Education requirements.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position.
