Duties

Help

General (Duties include but are not limited to):

  • Represents and serves as an advocate and educator for the installation MWR Program with a focus on Junior Sailor recreational programming.
  • Assists with the development of installation Single Sailor Liberty programming by collecting information, offering insight, generating initiatives that target the Junior Sailor population, and gathering feedback from Junior Sailors on desired programs, accessibility, and availability.
  • Manages the feedback process for program initiatives and improvements through daily one-on-one service member interactions and discussions.
  • Conducts the administration of customer feedback surveys and provides comprehensive reporting on results as required.
  • Assists with the development of contemporary marketing and engagement strategies, incorporating social media for efficient information dissemination and program feedback.
  • Assists MWR Marketing in creating, developing, and maintaining a strong social media brand presence, including video and photo content.
  • Provides recommendations for improving the MWR and Liberty Programs and marketing strategies based on feedback.
  • Distributes promotional and advertising materials and provides specific information on planned events to the Junior Sailor population.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on needs, preferences, and engagement level of the Junior Sailor population onboard the installation.
  • Promotes current and future MWR Program initiatives with the primary objective of increasing Junior Sailor and Liberty eligible customer engagement translating to increased program utilization and expansion of healthy physical and social lifestyle activities within the targeted community.
  • Assists MWR point of contact in recruitment and coordination of Liberty Ambassador Advisory Board members.
  • Serves as a member of the MWR Liberty Ambassador Advisory Board.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.

  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.

  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must possess a C.A.R.E (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively), Emergency First Responder (EFR) or CPR First Aid, (NASBLA) Safe Boating certificate, or equivalent OR be able to obtain these trainings/certifications within 90 days.
  • Required sitting, walking, long periods of standing, bending and lifting of moderate heavy items up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to work very shifts to included nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of scope of activities in the Liberty center for individuals and groups, of varying demographics, ages and interests.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations and keyboarding skills to include operation of desktop computers.
  • Knowledge of the elements of the MWR department, enabling the ability to answer customer questions and/or refer them to the appropriate activity.
  • Knowledge of business, military, and government protocol; safety and security with regard to written and verbal correspondence.
  • Knowledgeable on contemporary social media methods and platforms and utilizing them for communication.
  • Knowledge of CNIC's organizational structure, functions, and mission.
  • Skills in basic reading comprehension in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides.
  • Skills in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports related to work within the program.
  • Ability to apply basic customer service delivery methods to identify customer needs, deliver expected service, and/or resolve routine customer issues.
  • Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Education

Required:
6 months or more of general experience AND 6 months or more of specialized experience

OR

Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in courses related to recreation (e.g., basic psychology, group dynamics, physical education, arts and crafts, etc.).

OR

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience as described above.
