About the Position: Serves as the Director of US Army Space & Facilities (ASFM) - Army located in the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary Of the Army, the Pentagon, Washington, DC. Employee is responsible for managing policy and program implementation of a full range of real estate services to Headquarters, Department of Army (HQDA) in the National Capital Region.

Duties

Help
  • Drafts facilities or space plans to meet organizations objectives.
  • Recommends the development of space or facilities program and/or policy guidance for an organization wide agency.
  • Validates program space and/or facilities plans to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Briefs Senior Leaders on space requirements for current and future organization wide requirements.
  • Exercises personnel management through mid-level subordinate supervisors.

  • Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

  • TDY may be required up to 10% of the time.
  • May be eligible for situational telework only

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing short and/or long-term strategic plans for large-scale real estate portfolios, facility management, or space utilization programs; 2) managing real estate programs with organization-wide impact; 3) reviewing complex real estate agreements, leasing, construction, or facility, improvements with high-level stakeholders, contractors, or other governmental agencies; and/or 4) formulating multi-million-dollar budgets for facility operations or capital improvements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).

Education

This position does not allow substitution of education for experience.

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
