The United States Space Force (USSF) at the Pentagon is searching for a Director for Technical Security to support S2X (NH-0080-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent).

Description:
Are you a leader looking to protect the future of warfighting? If so, come join the USSF/HQ/S2 S2 as it trailblazes into its newly established Integrated Security Enterprise, as its CTTA. As the USSF Technical Security Authority, you will be leading the charge of how the USSF maintains Space Dominance and keeps the fight unfair against our enemies, for years to come.

Ideal Candidate:
The desired candidate must possess a current Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority certification or be able to recertify within 30 days of assignment upon entry. Ideal candidates should have a strong physical security background with demonstrated experience.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Expert knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing IC and DoD technical security and intelligence programs and mastery of security program relationships and dependencies to coordinate an effective security program.
2. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations.
3. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals and organizations throughout the IC and DoD, and represent the position of the United States Space Force to executive and other governing organizations.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and to direct the functions and staff of an organization in establishing effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful mission accomplishment.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately within and outside the organization, with commanders, program managers, senior government officials and representatives of industry and academia and the ability to work with all levels of personnel within and outside the component.
6. Ability to validate and assess training and oversight requirements, establish program and organizational objectives, monitor progress, assess achievements, analyze problems and develop timely, economical and innovative education and training program solutions. Ability to manage and direct multi-disciplinary project teams comprised of functional, technical and instructional professionals.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / relocation funding is authorized.
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
  • Employee is in a designated position that requires consent and thereafter be subject to and successfully complete, an initial, periodic and random counterintelligence (CI)-scope polygraph examination as a condition of employment.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 60 days a year.
  • Emergency-Essential (E-E), Non-Combat Essential (NCE), Capability-Based Volunteer (CBV) and Key Designated Position Statement.
  • SFPC: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification.
  • This position meets the executive exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.205).
  • Short and extensive temporary duty (TDY) assignments worldwide using all modes of commercial and military transportation may be required. Successful performance of duties may require travel 20 to 30 percent of the time.
