SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to schedule and support academic training events for students and instructors assigned to the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) English Instruction Training Program; to review, prioritize, and coordinate academic requests to meet requirements specified in the appropriate Military Articles and Services List (MASL); to oversee Time and Attendance tracking for CONUS and OCONUS instructors; to provide a wide range of support services to the English Instruction Flight (EIF).

DUTIES:
1. Plans, coordinates, supports and schedules academic training programs and events.

2. Provides a full range of instructor support. Manages, coordinates, assigns, and tracks substitute teacher assignments across English Instruction Flight (EIF), ensuring that all teaching needs are met daily.

3. Provides a full range of support services.

4. Represents the sections and flight with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.

Specialized Experience External Candidates: One year of specialized experience for GS-06 grade/level or equivalent in the federal service, which includes knowledge of requirements for training and availability to include scheduling and planning. General knowledge of training activities in order to coordinate and analyze a variety of data and processes, prepare schedules and effectively communicate with and obtain cooperation and assistance of personnel in the organizations. Knowledge of office automation systems to use several types of software for various office needs. Knowledge of software needed to produce a wide range of documents requiring use of advanced software functions to meet needs of complex formats. Knowledge of missions and functions in order to plan and coordinate all training resource requirements.

EDUCATION: Have successfully completed graduate level education in a field directly related to this position which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have combination of specialized experience and education as described above. Therefore, applicant has a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the rules, concepts, techniques, procedures, and operations of English Instruction training programs to perform specialized assignments in the academic scheduling function.

2. Knowledge of the organization's operations and functions sufficient to evaluate information gathered from various sources to determine quality, accuracy, and applicability.

3. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations, retrieve and input data, and maintain accurate files; a qualified typist is required.

4. Skill in applying basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve conflicts and determine adequacy of, or deficiencies in the program.

5. Ability to use one or more established computer programs/software (Microsoft Access and Microsoft Office software) to enter, maintain, sort, and retrieve organizational and/or program data.

6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and professionalism.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
