Duties

Help
  • Leads and supervises DFMWR Marketing team. Responsible for team building, performance management, and employee development to foster a high-performing collaborative creative environment.
  • Develops budget requirements for marketing activities and monitors budget execution. Directs the creation, implementation, and analysis of all marketing campaigns and publicity efforts.
  • Develops overarching marketing strategy based on organizational goals, needs assessments, and market data to effectively promote MWR programs and events.
  • Manages the public image of MWR by writing feature articles and other media content to highlight the value and benefits of MWR programs.
  • Analyzes market trends and conducts market research including focus groups and surveys to identify customer needs and preferences.
  • Actively markets MWR programs to generate revenue through commercial sponsorships and paid advertising. Manages the entire sales cycle, including developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring fulfillment.
  • Provides strategic oversight for all marketing functions, including digital marketing, social media, graphic design, and publications; ensuring alignment with MWR standards.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for commercial sponsors, advertisers and media partners. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Driver's license required if operating government vehicles.
  • Business operations are Monday-Friday but is subject to change and will be based on the needs of the activity. Nights, weekends and holidays are required during MWR events.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Candidate must possess experience at a level that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for successful performance as follows:

  • Experience demonstrating skill in applying a variety of principles, concepts, and techniques or marketing and sales.
  • Experience conducting research, surveys, and/or needs assessments to develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Experience developing and presenting sponsorship solicitation packages and proposals.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • Two (2) years experience in a supervisory role, with direct responsibility for leading and managing a marketing team.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals through the successful sale and execution of commercial sponsorships and advertising.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
