About the Position: Work as the senior member of an electrical repair maintenance team at a Lake Field Office, which is a major flood control project, included are a flood control dam, 11-20 recreation areas, 4-8 which are Class A facilities, consisting of 251-500 Class A, RV pads.

Help
  • Performs maintenance at these locations on mechanically/electronically operated infrastructure systems (electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, or combinations thereof).
  • Work involves nonstandard industrial applications, which lack clear precedent and require extensive adaptation of methods.
  • Major installation, maintenance and repair assignments include major overhaul, rehabilitation and new installation of electrical features, operating mechanisms and flood control systems.
  • Performs new installations, electrical maintenance, modification, repair, overhaul or replacement of electrical parts, systems and equipment on all project operated water supply and treatment systems and wastewater and treatment systems.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrician without more than normal supervision. Repair of electrical equipment; select tools and materials; load, test and adjust systems, circuits, equipment and controls to insure proper and safe operation. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent standing, stooping, stretching, climbing, and crouching. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally lifts and carries larger assemblies or complete units exceeding 50 pounds. Uses coordination of eyes, hands, legs, and body in installing, repairing, operating, or testing equipment in confined spaces such as manholes, machinery recesses, outlet stilling basin walls, or on overhead structures; climbs ladders, scaffolding, and works from suspended stages.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside during the day or night, subject to inclement weather, on high structures usually over water which is frequently turbulent, in the proximity of moving machinery and high traffic and noise areas.
