Duties

Help
  • Serve as the Facilities Operations Specialist, reporting to Chief of Facility Operations, DoDEA HQ Facilities Division, and responsible for several global facility programs and initiatives.
  • Support DoDEA leadership and regional offices in determining operating and maintenance requirements, accomplishing programs, and evaluating program effectiveness through inspections, budget controls, and management improvement studies.
  • Support the DoDEA military construction (MILCON) program through advice and assistance on major system recapitalization requirements to support maintenance of facilities at an acceptable OSD condition rating.
  • Develop annual funding targets for demand and preventive maintenance based on industry standards for maintenance and manufacturers' recommendations for property and equipment.
  • Coordinate on work plans for facilities being revitalized through sustainment, restoration, and modernization (SRM) funding. Oversee and report progress in preventive maintenance and demand maintenance programs for all DoDEA facilities.
  • Oversee management of the facilities database to ensure availability and accuracy of facilities data to include facilities condition ratings, floor plans, and facility usage.
  • Direct and assist regional facilities offices in determining the most appropriate means of maintaining DoDEA facilities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing facility operations programs such as: Prioritize a large number of building construction, maintenance, and repair projects in facilities located throughout multiple geographic areas in the United States or overseas; Perform Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution of funds for facility sustainment, restoration, and modernization of a large inventory of administrative, educational, medical, and/or other facilities; Communicate orally and in writing with professionals of varying backgrounds and functions at all levels of an organization and with external organizations by preparing and delivering reports and presentations; Develop and manage government facility services, architectural/engineering or other similar contracts.
