This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Communications, (OC), Creative Services Group, Division of Multimedia Services.

As an Audiovisual Production Specialist, GS-1071-13, you will be part of a team that is involved in a variety of production and post-production functions to produce videotaped and live television programs for training, management communication and public information purposes.

Duties

Help
  • Plan, organize, and design, original TV/Video productions from informational material supplied by subject matter specialists and clients.
  • Provide technical direction to studio staff for the operation of professional television equipment and systems such as broadcast cameras, Camera Control Units (CCUs), teleprompters, studio lighting systems, audio gear and computer technology.
  • Lead pre-production meetings, gathering technical and artistic input on effects and processes to enhance the effectiveness of the video product.
  • Lead post-production meetings to review and evaluate staff, effects and processes used to assemble, adjust, and enhance the audio and visual elements of a finished product.
  • Serve as a consultant and advisor to the Division Director and subject-matter experts, providing important information on (e.g. technical requirements, design, cost estimates, equipment needs, etc.) that will be produced to meet client's needs.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:

1) Collaborating with senior-level officials to develop and produce video and multimedia content for healthcare national programs such as Medicare Open Enrollment, Health Insurance Marketplace initiatives, Medicare Fraud Prevention and national healthcare partner- and provider-facing training materials;

2) Delivering brand-aligned communications that translate technical or policy information into digital products compliant with accessibility standards such as Section 508;

3) Developing content using video production systems such as the Sony Burano camera system, Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve post-production tools, to produce finished products for distribution and publication on social media platforms;

AND

4) Producing communication products or instructional materials for nationwide audiences.
