The United States Space Force (USSF) at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for Operations Support for 22 SOPS(NH-0301-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
A Day in the Life: What you will actually be doing:
- Be the backbone of a U.S. Space Force squadron: You'll support the daily operations of a unit that plays a real role in national security, keeping the SCN organized, informed, and on track.
- Manage the SCN: You'll manage maintenance , launch activities across the SCN, coordinate Modification Control Board (MCB) meetings, and serve as the ?rst point of contact for the squadron on all maintenance schedules across the network, so strong people skills, professional presence, and a strong attention to detail matter here.
- Provide primary communications channel between RTS Commanders and the SCN organizations on management items.
- Monitors the status of major downtimes which affect the operations of the Remote Tracking Stations (RTS).
- Prepares and provides briefings to Squadron and Mission Delta on a periodic basis.
- Develops, validates, produces and reviews technical documentation for planned and proposed short and long range SCN projects to determine impact on SCN resources.
- Performs a variety of additional duties as required.


Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment and enjoys keeping complex operations running smoothly. You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, a sharp attention to detail. A background in satellite/space operations is desired, whether gained in the military, government, corporate, or private-sector world. Experience juggling multiple competing priorities simultaneously is essential. A high school diploma is required, though additional education or professional training in office administration, business support, or a related field is a plus. You'll need to be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance, so a background check and willingness to go through that process is required.


Key Skills and Abilities:
1. A broad knowledge of the organization and functions of activities involved in providing logistical support.
2. Ability to identify all activities that will be involved in providing needed logistical support to the RTSs. 3. Working knowledge of DOD and AF acquisition management processes. Knowledge of the SCN maintenance and operations requirements.
4. Knowledge of the worldwide network of satellite communications facilities. Knowledge of Command and Control Segment in support of satellite operations.
5. Advanced knowledge of the SCN Scheduling System.
6. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to make presentations, reports, and provide technical information clearly using tact and diplomacy.
7. Ability to interpret and adapt AF policy and provide technical direction and guidance to RTS's.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / relocation funding is not authorized.
  • This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license if required to drive a vehicle.
  • Serves as Technical advisor on maintenance activities and is “on-call” status to solve real-time conflicts as required.
