Duties

Help
  • Supervise the H2F Human Performance Team.
  • Provide education and trainings to various groups regarding human performance and H2F programs.
  • Monitor the program's effectiveness and provide training and technical support to develop, manage, and implement an effective human performance program.
  • Conduct group and individual human performance consultations and oversight to include cardiovascular, strength, power, agility, flexibility, nutrition, and cognitive performance.
  • Conduct research and analysis on human performance.
  • Manage resources, contracting, budget, procurement, facilities, and equipment.
  • Analyze emerging mission requirements and conduct short- and long-term planning.
  • Serve as the program coordinator for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program, which includes kinesiology, dietetics and nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive performance, and strength and conditioning.
  • Evaluate, analyze, research, and implement program policies, guidance, and standard operating procedures.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Attend and complete all program identified training.
  • A pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination are required of the position.
  • Temporary duty travel is required up to 25% of the time.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance level.
  • Incumbent may be required to work later in the day and/or on weekends, as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • The incumbent may be assigned a government cell phone and be required to be in an On-Call status after hours and on weekends.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
  • A one year Supervisory probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Overtime work maybe required.
  • All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Basic Requirement for Holistic Health and Fitness Program Director:

Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a human performance enhancement program, developing program policy and procedures, and conducting program training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
