Duties

Help
  • You will have extensive knowledge of DoD CI operations, investigations, collections, production and analysis, and functional services.
  • You will be a technical expert in the fields of CI program evaluation, CI program development, policy analysis, organizational principles, resource management, and negotiation of CI policy.
  • You will conduct complex, sensitive clandestine operations, associated techniques and legal/policy requirements when using strategic CI materials.

  • The incumbent must successfully complete and be certified in DoD Counterintelligence as defined by DoD Instruction (DoDI) 3305.11 and DoD Directive (DoDD) 5240.02.
  • The incumbent must successfully complete and be certified in the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA) CI curriculum in accordance with DoDI 5240.09.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience to qualify for the GS-14 grade level you must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector of performing duties such as. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Planning and conducting complex counterintelligence investigations, operations, and collections to identify and neutralize threats like espionage and insider threats.
  • Applying expert knowledge of existing DoD, DON, and NCIS Counterintelligence policies and procedures to guide their operational activities and resolve complex case-related issues.
  • Managing complex investigations, including coordinating with other agents, analysts, and external partners.
  • Producing detailed reports and briefings for senior leadership; on the status of Counterintelligence efforts, emerging threats, and key findings from investigations.
