The primary purpose of this position, PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, NJ-1152-03 is to perform a variety of production planning, scheduling, and supply tasks in direct support of depot maintenance programs such as the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of complex weapon systems.

Help

-Knowledge and experience in the recurring manufacture, overhaul, or repair of products or projects using multiple process production methods and procedures to develop information necessary for the control of a complex product.
-Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
-Participate in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals.
-Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-8), level, pay band (NJ-02), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc.). Examples of specialized experience includes planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the use of labor, machines, and materials in specific manufacturing or remanufacturing operations that employ mechanical or automated production systems and methods in the fabrication, rebuilding, overhaul, refurbishing, or repair of any type of Government-owned, controlled, or operated equipment, systems, facilities, and supplies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
2. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
3. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
5. Skill in interpreting and applying complex regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.

Ideal Candidate: Has 1152 experience, supply experience, computer systems knowledge/experience (G402A, D035, NIMMS/ABOM, D035, Impresa), experience working/dealing with DLA, DIFM/DOTM exchange experience, financial error research/knowledge, Master Production Schedule experience.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position, NJ-1152-03, equivalent to the GS-09/GS-11, WITH A TYPICAL SALARY RANGE OF $52,727 to $82,938.
