Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/OCEANOGRAPHER in the GEOSPATIAL-INTELLIGENCE (GEOINT) ANALYSIS DIVISION, WARFIGHTING SUPPORT CENTER, FULL SPECTRUM GEOINT BRANCH of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Current permanent employees of UIC 62306, Current or former DCIPS Interchange Agreement eligibles, Interchange eligibles, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference eligibles and DoD Retained Grade Preference eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
You will plan, organize, supervise and direct a group of interdisciplinary scientists and contractors responsible for running complex algorithms with data.
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set immediate priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work.
You will keep abreast of changes in technical work specifications and methodologies and provide guidance and/or interpretation to subordinates.
You will monitor progress of all projects/programs; investigate delays, identify causes, and initiate or recommend corrective action to assure deadlines are met.
You will coordinate with representatives of other branches, divisions, or departments concerning matters of work accomplishment, priorities, methods and procedures.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Mastery experience with scientific concepts, theories, principles and practices of oceanography and or related scientific fields to include imagery analysis, remote sensing or other physical science. Experience with computer science and remote sensing to plan, manage, review and assume responsibilities for technical functions of an organization. Extensive Experience with remote sensing and image analysis applications to oceanography, products produced from remotely sensed data or from data fusion techniques, their utility to military operations, sensors, weapon systems, tactics, critical METOC thresholds and other limitations placed by the natural environment, and military customer requirements. Experience with policies and practices of supervision and personnel management to motivate, train and work effectively with subordinates accomplishing assigned tasks within set limits of time.
