As a SUPERVISORY AUDITOR, GS-0511-13, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing daily and long term operations. Maintains and ensures professional competence within the unit. Ensure advice and assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and overall internal review program objectives. Research, interpret, analyze and apply applicable internal review guidelines, policies and objectives. Establish policies and procedures for accomplishment of the organization's mission. Plan and schedule work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution. Coordinate plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Identifies need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes.

Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5 day workweek, then a 4 day workweek ( 8 nine-hour days and 1 eight-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80 hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position within one year of appointment
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, state emergency or disaster declaration. Designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless approved in advance by the TAG.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • May be required to travel away from normal duty station.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have one of the following credentials.
A. Degree: Accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. OR

B. Combination of education and experience: At least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:1. Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; or 2. A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1-year equivalent specialized experience to at least the next lower grade level with fundamental working experiences with a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the audit occupational series and grade and perform such duties as advise, supervise, and systematically examine and appraise financial records, management and financial reports, management controls, policies, and practices affecting or reflecting the financial condition and operating results of the Army and Air National Guard of the state. Experiences gained through military technical training schools or civilian academic courses or related civilian work are included in the one-year on-the-job specialized experience.


SUPERVISORY: Must have experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT LEVEL 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  2. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel NGB-J1.
