Duties

Help

Assists management with workforce management, recruitment, coaching and training of team members, ensuring work schedules are followed. Approves leave as delegated by management and informs Outdoor Recreation Director of employee disciplinary or performance issues. Coordinates the details of recurring activities, special events, and joint community undertakings to make maximum use of resources. Resolves customer inquiries and/or complaints concerning equipment and services. Uses computer systems and software for equipment tracking, event reservations, inventory control, and cash accountability. Provides oversight and accuracy of established procedures for cash deposits, daily accounting, and activity inventories. Collects, maintains and analyzes data on number, type, and frequency of participation for Outdoor Recreation programs and equipment to justify expansion. Research new events and equipment ideas. Orders and receives program supplies and equipment. Coordinates and executes marketing and advertising for Outdoor Recreation activities and equipment rental. Assists the Outdoor Recreation Director in developing and implementing Operating Instructions (OI's) and/or policies for Outdoor Recreation. Enforces facility/equipment usage requirements and limitations. Reports all noteworthy occurrences related to program operation to the Outdoor Recreation Director. May assume the duties of the ODR Director in their absence. Adheres to all Federal, state, and local regulations and policies. Performs other related duties, as required.

  • This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
To qualify, provide experience showing knowledge of operations management gained through an Outdoor Recreation operations or administrative position, which includes responsibility for various phases of operations. Preferred experience which provides a working familiarity with the practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities, recreational equipment, and rental procedures. Must be able to effectively use spoken and written forms of communication. Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
