Duties

Help
  • Accountable for decisions and/or recommendations in matters relating to work management and resources utilization.
  • Responsible for the management of the work order program for the installation to include the work request database, processing of all Job Order Requests for facilities related and construction services to support all missions across Redstone Arsenal.
  • Provides an official point-of-contact for all Redstone, customers (internal and external to the Garrison) with work requirements.
  • Develops Directorate of Public Works (DPW) program objectives, operating policies and responsibility assignments/plans for coordination, integration, and direction of all functional areas in providing supporting DPW services to all Redstone missions.
  • Provide program guidance and review project directives for reasonableness of cost, conformance with criteria, and compliance with installation/DPW requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a Program Manager for facilities and infrastructure management (facilities maintenance orders, customer job requests, Installation Status Reports for Infrastructure, and Facility Manager Training).
  • Utilizes a highly developed knowledge of life cycle project management, program management and leadership.
  • Analyze facility databases (ISR-I, Builder), historical and current maintenance costs, personnel impacted, and mission impact to provide recommendations for Annual Work Plan, Restoration and Modernization lists for effective/efficient use of funding.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Planning and coordinating complex installation-wide projects involving engineering design, construction, utility operations, maintenance, and municipal services by applying extensive knowledge of the work functions of the Directorate of Public Works (DPW). 2) Administering work and service order operations using a management system to track requirements. 3) Analyzing projects and operational data by preparing reports providing updates to supervisors and management officials. 4) Collects, processes and analyzes Installation Status Report (ISR-Infrastructure) data, BUILDER information, historical and current maintenance costs, number of personnel impacted (via ASIP and/or Real Property Inventory Reports) and mission impact to objectively provide recommendation for the prioritization of the Annual Work Plan and Restoration and Modernization project lists to maximize the effective and efficient use of direct and reimbursable funds.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
