Duties

Help

This position is located on the Budget Execution Team, Resource Management and Planning Staff (RMP), Chief Financial Officer, Executive Office for United States Attorney's (EOUSA). Duties include:

-Supports the United States Attorney's Community and performs a variety of technical and analytical budgetary financial management duties on assigned USAOs' budgets, affecting all stages of the budget process.
-Serves as needed as Acting Budget Officer for one or more districts, responsible for the formulation, presentation, and execution phases of the district's short and long-range budget.
-Advises management on the proper and effective utilization of all financial resources under the district's jurisdiction in accordance with a wide variety of laws, regulations, and Department of Justice and EOUSA policies and programs.
-Within the context of fiscal authority delegated by EOUSA, oversee the use and maintenance of a comprehensive, integrated financial management system, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting to furnish timely data that are used in the direction, evaluation, and control of district operations.
-Plans and carries out a wide variety of financial and budget-related support activities for the district.
-Conducts training classes for Budget Officers and provides direct support to the USAOs and EOUSA, to address specific issues related to the district's budget.
-Provides a wide variety of budgetary report.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

GS-13: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal service applying policies, precedents, regulations, concepts and processes to manage the budget process including formulating and executing the budget.
Experience overseeing financial management operations; preparing estimates, budgets and operating plans; conducting financial audits; providing advice and guidance on budget and financial activities; tracking funds; and developing financial and budgetary reports.
