The United States Space Force (USSF) in Huntsville, AL is searching for an Information System Security Manager for SY 89 (NH-2210-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
Serve as a liaison between the government and contractors, ensuring the successful execution of contracts while also providing technical expertise to support the IT infrastructure and systems. Play a critical role in overseeing contract performance, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, all while leveraging IT skills to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Knowledge of information technology (IT) Support Services, Information Assurance, Security and International Trade and Treaty Compliance, Operational Risk Management, and Facilities management.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software system, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack form a variety of sources ( e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
4. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization through subordinate personnel.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
8. Ability to apply management principles to full range of project and diversified personnel while complying with federal, DoD, and AF directives and policies.
9. Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems, and management.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / incentive funding is not authorized.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP). The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use, IAW AFI 90-508.
  • This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position held.
  • This position is coded Level II, Information Technology. Employee is expected to meet Continuous Learning (CL) requirements.
  • Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year.
