  • You will formulate local procedures for the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA)/Workers’ Compensation Management Program (OWCP).
  • You will consult with customers on human resources issues (e.g., strategic workforce development, sustainment, compensation management, organizational design).
  • You will brief managers on civilian human resources program policies (e.g., compensation, employee relations, performance management, work life, workforce development).
  • You will draft letters to the Office of Workers’ Compensation Program (OWCP) regarding compensation claims.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-05 GRADE LEVEL:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Assists in Claims Processing: Supports senior specialists in the processing of routine workers' compensation claims by gathering, organizing, and reviewing claim forms and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.; 2) Provides Basic Program Information: Learns the fundamentals of the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) program to respond to basic inquiries from employees and supervisors regarding claim filing procedures and general benefits.; 3) Maintains Case Files: Performs essential administrative duties, including maintaining and updating case files, tracking claim statuses in automated systems, and preparing routine correspondence for review. FOR THE GS-07 GRADE LEVEL:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Assisting with a Workers' Compensation Program; 2) Ensuring that official case files are properly structured and maintained with complete documentation; 3) Assisting in preparing correspondence to the Department of Labor (DOL) on sensitive or complex claims (i.e., denial of claims letters, preliminary investigation summaries, etc.) and documentation to be considered by DOL for making comprehensive decisions by DOL claims examiner. Education

In lieu of generalized experience listed above, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education.
OR
Superior academic achievement.

GS-05:
Successful completion of a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
