THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is located at the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS), in Phoenix, AZ. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all state/territory activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning; analyzing and identifying problems in order to develop and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs throughout the organization.

  • ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the (Organization).
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a current unrestricted, excluding glasses, state and military driver’s license.
  • Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Must possess and maintain access to the Arizona Army National Guard computer network (NIPR) and required systems.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Security + Certification.
  • Must be able to gain and maintain access to GCSS-Army.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.

Qualifications

Military Grades:

Enlisted: E-3/PFC to E-8/MSG/1SG
Warrant Officer: W-1 to W-2

Compatible Military Assignments:

Enlisted: 25B, 25D, 36B, 51C, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, or 92Y
Warrant Officer: 011A, 255A, 255D, 882A, 890A, 913A, 914A, 915A, 915E, 920A, 920B, 922A, or 923A

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which involved detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities). Experience planning and organizing work assignments.

Education

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

1. Utilizes an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of Combat Service Support (CSS) automation.

2. Knowledge to serve as a Systems Administrator for all CSS Automated Logistics Information Systems and, as a technical expert within the state/territory, is responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for specified Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to operators and supervisors.

3. Knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical problems identified in trouble tickets and performs initial setup of specified Automated Logistics Information System computers to include loading software, configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network, and completing technical inspections.

4. Ability to serve as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced databases in the absence of a senior Logistics Management Specialist.

5. Skill to provide direction and guidance to supported CSS Automated Logistics Information System users in the submission of automated systems problem reports and/or change proposals.

6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
