DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Activity Manager with a variety of clerical, administrative, and cash handling duties which may include but not limited to the following: types correspondence, reports, and other materials from rough draft, clean or corrected copy, including statistical and financial data.
  • Composes correspondence from brief verbal or written instructions of the supervisor.
  • Responsible for correct spelling, paragraphing, grammar, format, etc.
  • Maintains schedules of employees.
  • Prepares proper documentation for receiving and purchasing of supplies and equipment.
  • Inputs inventory invoices into current software within 24 hours of invoice receipt.
  • Provides information and performs customer service when required.
  • Prepares daily financial documentation, i.e., consolidated/cashier's reports (AF Form 1876) and forwards to the NAF Accounting Office for processing and makes the daily deposit to the Central Cashier.
  • Keeps correspondence, financial, and child's files; prepares invoices and necessary paperwork to ensure proper payment of vendors.
  • Assists with end of month inventories.
  • Trains new employees on proper cash handling procedures and daily financial paperwork. Prepares receiving reports on all merchandise.
  • Logs receiving reports, makes copies and turns in originals to the Accounting Office.
  • Coordinates with the Accounting Office on mid-month and end of month account detail listings and operating statements.
  • Inputs all payroll information into the TMX system daily, turns in bi-weekly payroll file and month accrual disks to the NAF Accounting Office.
  • Maintains continuity, self-inspection, safety, ORM, resource protection, and training documentation and books.
  • Creates and maintains a file plan and filing system IAW establish procedures and AF instructions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Applicant must have knowledge of computer systems used for basic entry and retrieval operations.
  • One year of specialized experience to at least a GS-04 or NF-02 grade level or 4 years above high school.
  • Demonstrated experience with Excel and Word are required. Experience in clerical or office work of any kind.
  • Ability to operate a calculator and other routine office equipment.
  • Specific experience in the Air Force administrative process is desirable but not required.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
