The United States Space Force (USSF) at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a Space Access Satellite Scheduler to support 22 SOPS (NH-0301-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Space Access Satellite Scheduler to join our mission-critical team. The successful candidate will be a functional and technical expert in satellite operations, responsible for the real-time scheduling, deconfliction, and management of satellite resources. This role is essential for ensuring the operational readiness of the Satellite Control Network (SCN) and requires a professional who can thrive in a high-stakes, dynamic environment.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is an experienced technical professional with a strong background in satellite operations and scheduling, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a mission-critical environment. Perferably have a military background. You will need to either have a Top Secret (SCI) clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret (SCI) clearance which includes a background check.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Develop, manage, and deconflict complex resource allocation schedules for satellite operations, ensuring optimal use of ground equipment.
2. Serve as a subject matter expert on satellite requirements, orbital mechanics, and ground system capabilities.
3. Lead and facilitate working groups to resolve scheduling conflicts and address technical issues in a collaborative manner.
4. Respond to real-time emergencies and stressful situations with effective, decisive action, and clear communication.
5. Coordinate and conduct technical interchange meetings with a diverse group of military, contractor, and government civilian personnel.
6. Maintain proficiency with specialized scheduling computer systems and data management protocols.
7. Provide guidance and leadership to teams, foster cooperation, and potentially act as a shift supervisor.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS funding is not authorized.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP). The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use, IAW AFI 90-508.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain certification as a Network Resource Scheduler. This is a direct duty support position identified by AFI 13-602 Space Operations.
  • This is a Key position. Incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
  • Incumbent must be able to deal with stressful situations especially during real-time emergencies.
  • Incumbent is required to work a rotating shift schedule. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty and/or overtime.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain certification as a Network Resource Scheduler. This is a direct duty support position identified by AFI 13-602 Space Operations.
  • Incumbent must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.
  • May be required to act as the shift supervisor in the absence of the supervisor.
