Duties

Help

The purpose of this position is to plan and administer the activities, service and staff of the Force Support Community Activity Centers. The manager will perform a variety of assignments as assigned; subordinate employees, plan, coordinate, execute recurring and nonrecurring activities, special events, and joint community unde11aking so as to make maximum use of the facilities, services, and other resources, for example: schedules and coordinates joint use of facilities with civic groups and private clubs, military, civilian and business organizations for the conduct of club meetings, conferences, tournaments, talent shows and contests, USO and AFE shows, displays of merchandise, flea markets, base wide events etc., ensuring vendor compliance with contracts, completing the required associated formalities, booking events and entertainment, coordinating advertising, marketing ensure effective marketing promotion to increase awareness; working with other departments to develop program advertising (display ads, postcards, posters, brochures, emailings, etc.); maintaining and developing contact lists; assisting in finding sponsors/donors for funding programming; assisting in identifying strategic partnerships in the development of programming, funding and marketing; recommends new, alternative or additional programs or changes in existing programs and events based upon costumer needs and surveys; and other job-related duties as assigned. Completes after action reports for each program conducted. Schedules and publicizes recreation center activities by making up daily, weekly and monthly schedules of events. Manages small retail operation; order and receiving inventory. Arranges for the purchase or procurement of supplies and services needed to accomplish scheduled recreation center activities. Directs and oversees theatre operations. Assist in the completion of daily financial statements and bank deposits, APF and NAF budgeting process, safety, fire, sanitation and cash handling. Follows all Air Force regulations in the procurement of equipment, supplies, and entertainment. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and deadlines. Assures that mission and accuracy requirements are met; selects employees; hears and resolves grievances and complaints; initiates corrective and/or adverse action for performance conduct; schedules and grants leave; identifies training needs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Have a minimum of two years of progressive experience, which provides a thorough knowledge of all duties described above. Verifiable experience in special events planning, or other closely related professions such as in Community Recreation or Hospitality. Have the knowledge of theories, practices, techniques of business practices and concepts as related to special events/ entertainment programs. Knowledge of current trends in music, theater, and the overall entertainment industry, sufficient to ensure audience enjoyment of selected programs. Have experience with the MS Office: Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Other desktop publishing software and skill in the use of the Internet is desired. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and be able to read, comprehend, and speak English.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
