Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
These include, but not limited to: weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56.
This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
The 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 covers this position. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
Incumbent is subject to removal from the position if convicted of a felony in accordance with Section 639 of P.L. 106-554 effective January 20, 2001.
Incumbent in this position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
In the event of a crisis situation or inclement weather, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority.
Incumbent must possess a valid state drivers license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator license.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Tier 3 (Secret) security investigation.
Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
Incumbent is subject to possible civil and criminal action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
Incumbents must have successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy; unless incumbent has an approved waiver/exception from the Office of the Provost Marshal General, IAW AR 190-56.
Incumbents must have successfully graduated from the United States Army Military Police School (USAMPS) Military Police Investigator Course or complete within one year of hire date.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Conducting investigations on committed crimes; 2) Responding to crime scene to collect and preserve evidence; 3) Preparing case reports to be used during the judicial process; and 4) Ensure proper packaging, storage, and accountability of evidence.
Education
