About the position: This position will be assigned to the Resource Management Flight.

This position will be the first line of help to resolve IT and computer related issues. Preforms basic helpdesk duties. Assists in planning for loss of system hardware/software, preforms routine system and database maintenance. Install, configure, operate, provide and coordinate support for all client devices/applications and ensure they meet the needs and requirements of the activity.

Duties

Help

Provide end-user support for all users and systems within the organization and serve as the organizations first line of help to resolve IT and computer systems related issues. Perform basic helpdesk duties such as receive visitors and incoming calls; create and maintain user accounts and records; provide new user orientation and training. Assists in planning for short-term and long-term loss of system hardware and software; perform routine system and database maintenance and troubleshoot system failures; perform routine system, database, and user data backups; and ensure end-users are trained and provided user manuals. Consult with customers regarding potential system or program upgrades. Install, configure, operate, and provide and coordinate support for all client devices and application and ensure the meet the needs and requirements of the activity. Provide instructions and assistance to all organizational personnel on the user of Air Force developed and off the shelf software packages. May be required to create edit and maintain end-user instructions or manuals. Proactively interacts with users to ensure proper operation of computer systems, hardware, and software. Research, evaluate and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements. Work directly with Air Force Services Activity, contractors and vendors to resolve hardware and software including Aloha, RecTrac and Point Of Sale (POS) issues to include warranty replacements and software modifications. Update and maintain an approved work order database. Submit and track work request to other base agencies. Assist with tracking and maintaining of the IT asset inventory by preparing required documents and following established procedures to ensure accuracy of the inventory. Must have working knowledge of Credit Card systems and terminals. Assigned duties include Cybersecuirty liaison, Telephone Control Office (TCO), Equipment Custodial, or Record Custodian (RC), Radio Control Officer, frequency manager. May be required to coordinate with Air Force Services Agency, other base agencies, and contractors to ensure compliance standards are being met to include Purchase Care Industry (PCI). Area of responsibility include end-users, workstations and peripherals within 4th Force Support Squadron. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have knowledge of the mission, objectives, terminology and management practices in the activity, the agency and the department to recognize probable area of interaction and overlap between proposed and existing systems. Knowledge of hardware and software systems, network operations functions, communication protocols, diagnostic tools to recover data, analyze customer problems and provide assistance. Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the activity's computer equipment configuration, system software, utility programs and programming aids available to carry out network and/or telecommunications programs and projects and coordinate efforts with others affected in the organizations. Knowledge of Department of Defense and Air Force policies, procedure, regulation, directives and requirements related to physical, personnel, emanations, and information security. Must have a pre-employment physical. Must be able to carry equipment weighing at least 40 pounds. Possession of a professional information technology certification (A+, Net+, Security+, CISSP, MCSE, MCP, etc) highly desired. Required to attain and maintain a professional information technology certification. Required to complete Security+ certification within 6 months. Incumbent is required to have a valid drivers license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a T3 Security clearance. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
