Incumbent serves as a Recreation Aid, providing customer service and support for the Bowling Center Front Desk and Snack Bar.

Front Desk duties: Incumbent serves as a Recreation Aid, providing customer service and support for the Bowling Center Front Desk and Snack Bar. Greets patrons upon arrival and answers telephones. Advises patrons of services, activities and food offerings and answers inquires. Uses a Point of Sales system to assign bowling lanes, billiard tables and reserve lanes for groups. Completes daily activity reports (DAR) and ensures proper deposit of receipts. Issues shoes according to size needed. Ensures leagues start bowling at scheduled times. Performs necessary housekeeping tasks in assigned spaces to ensure proper standards of appearance, safety and cleanliness. Ensures proper security and closing procedures are followed to prevent fire or theft.

Snack Bar duties: Sells food items, beverages, and bottled beer from the Snack Bar. Computes charges and collects payment for food and beverage items. Completes daily activity reports (DAR) and ensures proper deposit of receipts. Expedites/delivers food orders. Makes coffee and serves fountain drinks. Sets up and cleans coffeemaker/beverage dispenser replenishing product as needed. Ensures proper display and marking of prepared food items

  • Irregular working hours may be required to include early shift, late shift, evenings, weekends and holidays when the need arises.
  • Must meet state minimum age requirements to sell alcohol.
  • Must be C.A.R.E trained, hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification and hold a current Food Handler certification, upon being placed in the position OR be able to obtain these trainings/certifications within 90 days of being placed in the position.
  • This position is not telework eligible.

Knowledge of basic food handling techniques. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the basic rules and requirements of bowling. Knowledge of the activities and assigned area of responsibility. Knowledge of cash handling procedures. Knowledge of basic arithmetic. Knowledge of sanitation requirements for the assigned area of responsibility. Ability to read and understand written material. Ability to work tactfully and be courteous of others. Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing. Ability to perform routine housekeeping tasks. Ability to present a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to notify manager on duty.

Work requires walking, carrying, lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, standing, stooping and bending.
