Duties

Help
  • Perform a broad range of operations research analysis (ORA) assignments entailing unique force management and assessment problems.
  • Analyze and advise on feasibility of advanced analytical approaches in addressing the division’s information requirements.
  • Serve as an expert on use of modeling and simulation techniques to capture and evaluate anticipated cyberspace operations contingency planning.
  • Develop models to test, analyze, and evaluate algorithms and other logic.
  • Analyze problems revealed by application of findings from prior studies and advises the supervisor and other reporting seniors of the feasibility of different approaches
  • Represent the division and J9 while attending meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to cyberspace operations program planning and assessment, and force management.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
  • This is a Drug Testing Designated Position. covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and pass urinalysis testing.
  • The incumbent may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft up to 25% of the time.
  • The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
  • In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level.

Basic Education Requirement for Operation Research Analyst:

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, to qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1. identifying courses of action to address information/cyberspace requirements such as force management, planning and allocation; 2. utilizing analytical research methods to develop solutions to information/cyberspace problems; 3. collaborating with relevant stakeholders to evaluate force management performance metrics.
