Physical Effort: Incumbent handles objects weighing 45 pounds and occasionally carries objects weighing 45 pounds and over for considerable distances. Is required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and work in cramped positions over and under machinery of all types for sustained periods of time.
???????Working Conditions: Incumbent usually performs work inside areas that are adequately lighted, ventilated and heated and occasionally works outside for short periods of time where there is exposure to prevailing weather conditions. Flood and deck surfaces are sometimes uneven, oily and slippery. Incumbent is frequently exposed to moving objects and sharp edges with the possibility of cuts and bruises. Occasionally incumbent climbs and works from ladders and stagings exposing the possibility of serious injury from slipping and falling. Exposed to constant noise, rotating machinery, dirt, grease, chemicals, oils and fumes in the work area. Works with and neutralizes potentially toxic chemicals. Uses various protective devices such as hard hats, gloves, safety shoes, aprons, boots, coveralls, safety glasses, respirators, and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
