Duties

Help
  • Serves as a senior Strategic Intelligence Analyst within the Command. Is responsible for future threat analysis of regional geographic or functional areas.
  • Serves as senior strategic analyst for a specific geographical area or highly specialized functional area, responsible for solving difficult and complex analytical problems.
  • Develops in-depth intelligence analytical assessments to assist in determining the best practices to counter future threats or emerging technology that impact an operational objective area.
  • Conducts regular liaison with senior level officials and may deploy as an intelligence liaison officer within the intelligence community based on exercise or mission requirements.
  • Attends conferences and meetings held by the various governmental and military intelligence agencies in furtherance of the information needs of the command as dictated by contingency plans.
  • Recommends work schedules to meet changes in analysis and production priorities.
  • Evaluates the correctness and accuracy of source data.
  • Ensures intelligence databases are maintained for emerging threats, functional areas or specific countries within the Unified Command AOR in order to support future contingency operations.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information {SCI} and selected Special Access Program {SAPs) based on a Tier 5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • This is a testing designated position. Personnel are required to sign DA Form 5019-R {Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
  • Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.
  • May require TDY travel over more than 30 days to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 30% of the time. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships and vehicles.
  • This position is deployable and may require extended TDY to OCONUS locations. This position requires a pre-employment physical and thereafter prior to OCONUS travel over 30 days.

  • This position is designated as mission essential, consistent with the criteria described in DoD instruction (DoDI) 3024.42. (See the Additional Information Section below).
  • Must reside within the local area (50 miles) and able to report to work within an hour notice.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
1) Experience serving as an Intelligence Analyst during exercises or crisis operations; AND 2) Experience solving difficult and complex analytical problems to provide operational and strategic assessments in support of contingency plans; AND 3) Experience evaluating Intelligence data and maintaining Intelligence databases for emerging threats in order to support contingency operations.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
