Duties

Help

As a Logistics Management Officer (Temp Promo)-Title 32, GS-0346-13, you will provide overall senior level supervisory management of the logistics personnel and programs. Plans, directs, and administers logistics programs to include Operations Compliance, Cargo Movement, Air Transportation, Logistics Plans, Vehicle Maintenance and Management, Ground Transportation, Fuels Management and Material Management. Supervises positions engaged in substantive logistics work. Responsible for overall management of the units' resources, manpower, equipment accountability, internal controls and training in peacetime, in preparation to perform the State and Federal missions.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

Military Grades: O4 through O5

Conditions of Employment:

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0346-13 level, you must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and
fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
