This position will be a FOOD PROGRAM MONITOR assigned to FAMILY CHILD CARE at Minot AFB, ND.

This is a FLEXIBLE (FLEX) position. A Flex (Intermittent) schedule does not have guaranteed hours, and you may work 0-40 hours per week as needed by the facility.

Employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool.

Duties

Help

Responsible for the overall supervision of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) at Minot AFB. Directs, plans, and develops policy objectives for the program implementation by Family Child Care (FCC) providers and Airmen and Family Services Flight Programs (AFSFP) staff. Provides guidance on policies and procedures. Monitors all aspects of program performance and ensures that program agreements are carried out in accordance with appropriate guidelines. Contacts potential FCC providers and encourages their participation in the CACFP, typically through FCC Orientation. Serves as liaison between the CACFP and other base and local organizations that represent the best interest of the program. On a continuing basis, monitors all participating FCC providers and AFSFP staff. Determines the quality and quantity of meals served to children. Provides specific guidelines to providers/staff for ensuring proper performance of specified duties. Inspects and evaluates all pertinent records which relate to CACFP and provides assistance as needed. Maintains files on all participating providers and AFSFP activities. Designs and develops forms as needed for program use. Reviews and approves all menus. Responsible for all fiscal operations: develops budget plans and amendments and oversees budget execution. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, vouchers, correspondence, and documents required to manage CACFP. Collects and analyzes monthly report data from participating providers and converts this data into claims for reimbursement. Submits all required reports to regional USDA office. Complies with all CACFP directives and participates as required in USDA Audits. Develops, adapts, and implements procedures and other resources to be used by the providers/staff to support program goals and objectives. Identifies potential problem areas, plans and initiates actions for these areas. Provides guidance/instructions to other program personnel as required. Makes recommendations related to provider/staff performance based on monitoring/evaluation. Prepares, schedules and conducts regular training workshops in nutrition education and other pertinent topics for all providers and staff. Designs/develops training aids IAW agency directives. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge of the USDA CACFP directives, policies, procedures, and nutritional requirements. Familiarity with forms, records, file maintenance, & computer-based programs related to the USDA Food Program. Must be able to develop a rapport with the providers for purposes of the USDA enrollment, & for offering semi-technical information and instructions. Ability to maintain records & reports accurately, spot errors & make corrections. Ability to perform monetary computations, & monitor/gather data to complete reports & respond to program inquiries. Serves as subject matter expert in this program area. Must be able to work independently in the field & maintain proper objective, professional relationships with others. Must have valid driver's license, up-to date immunizations, pre-employment physical & required background checks. Must be able to read/write/speak English, must be l8 years of age. Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification. Must have general computer skills. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug used.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
