Duties

Help
  • You will serve as supervisor over the Fleet Operations, Southwest Region Fleet Transport (SWRFT) Division, Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics.
  • You will develop duty schedules to insure equitable assignment of employees, and that SWRFT's vehicular requirements are met on a 24 hour a day, seven days a week basis.
  • You will plan on a quarterly or longer basis the overall use of subordinate personnel and other resources under their control.
  • You will determine resource requirements, materials, and the number of subordinates and the types of skill necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules.
  • You will maintain balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources under their control to achieve the most effective work operations.
  • You will evaluate work operations and review completed work and inspection reports to assure that standards are meet.
  • You will coordinate work operations with the supervisors of other organizations and functions.
  • You will recommend promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors, make formal appraisals of their performance, and determine their training needs.
  • You will serve as a management representative at hearings, meetings, and negotiations involving labor management relations.

Incumbent is required to comprehend and administer numerous guidelines, policies, procedures, instructions, regulatory laws, regulations, directives, and notices pertaining to Fleet Operations. When specific guidelines are not available, the incumbent is expected to decide on cognizant matters but may refer problems that are complex in nature to the supervisor.

The magnitude of operations is reflective of the Base population of approximately 40,000 members of a Marine Division, Air/Ground elements, and supporting activities located in a geographic area of 195 square miles which frequently uses the training and physical dispersion of the workforce. Problems are often extensive in the planning and coordinating of operations, (Cross country, Intra State, Installation to Installation) maintenance support and coordination are compounded commensurate with operational tempo.
