Duties

Help
  • You will make recommendations for changes and modifications to improve intelligence gathering methodologies and techniques.
  • You will collect, analyze, interpret, evaluate and integrate data from multiple sources in assessing the relevance and significance of developments in assigned area.
  • You will preparing new or revising previous analyses, assessments or other products.
  • You will plan and carry out all assignments necessary to process all-source material and produce pertinent intelligence in his/her assigned area to meet U.S. government needs.
  • You will provide analytical support, referrals and takes the lead for actions or operational interests, targeting, policy initiatives and proposals.

  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • This position may be subject to polygraph examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as:

1.Develops and demonstrates operational knowledge of capabilities and accesses of the collection disciplines, strengths and weaknesses of specific technical sensors/platforms, and human sources in area of responsibility. Executes collection using appropriate collection strategies and within the priorities established through the collection management process.
2. Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information. Obtains, evaluates, organizes, and maintains information.
3. Develops networks and builds alliances; collaborates across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals.
4. Applies principles, methods, tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects and resources, including technical performance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statue, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Several vacancies may be filled.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
