The purpose of this position is to provide program support and to coordinate the Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) and New Employee Orientation (NEO) programs. Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:

PMDB Coordinator:

  • PMDB training is mandated training for employees so they can recognize, prevent, manage, and report incidents of Workplace Violence and Disruptive Behaviors (WV&DB) that occur.
  • Facilitates program development within the facility, employee training, and develop annual PMDB training plan.
  • Plans, develops, implements, directs, and coordinates overall PMDB training; clearly communicates staff performance to supervisor of record; performs administrative personnel management functions, tracks training assignments and completions.
  • Collects training data, analyzing data to look for opportunities to reach training goals. Makes recommendations for improvement opportunities as they are discovered from participant feedback from evaluations.
  • Collaborates with PMDB program manager to ensure policies are current and compliant with the Joint Commission (TJC) and OSHA requirements.
  • Participates in the analysis of disruptive and violent incidents.
NEO Coordinator:
  • Directs, manages, and communicates both in-person and in-writing, with facility experts/presenters, the schedule for presentations and the plan for surrogacy during absences.
  • Manages the online repository of PowerPoints and handouts for facility presenters.
  • Researches or analyzes problems, issues, or NEO program requirements.
  • Sends calendar invites to new employees and supervisors and send reminders to presenters.
  • Ensures, appropriate supplies, props, and equipment are available.
  • Provides logistical support for the training program by researching, coordinating, and procuring available instructors, and classrooms. Complete purchase orders for education department supplies.
Other:
  • Serve on committees as needed.
  • Uses Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, etc.) effectively to complete and manage correspondents, tracking, reporting, and education initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SCREEN-OUT) - A Selective Placement Factor (SPF) has been identified for this position. Selective Placement Factors (SPF) are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: planning, developing, and coordinating overall training; tracking training assignments and completions; collecting and analyzing data to look for opportunities to reach training goals; managing and communicating both in-person and in-writing with new employees, with training instructors/presenters, and scheduling the training/presentations. (Resumes must clearly detail your related experience to receive credit. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is generally sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the administrative portions of the job. However, there is walking, standing, some bending, lifting, and transporting items related to the training (e.g. books, binders, training materials) which weigh less than 40 pounds. The work requires infrequent travel off-site to the Community Based Outpatient Clinics and/or government leased space requiring the employee to possess a driver's license to operative a government vehicle.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
