Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Shift Supervisor Standoff Strike Mission Planner in the Operations Division of CMSA PAC, CAMP HM SMITH HAWAII, an Echelon III Command under COMUSFLTFORCOM.
  • You will organize, plan, direct and administer the work of the Mission production Shift (I or II), ensuring that work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
  • You will evaluate and provide quality control and certification of all shift strike missions and supporting target and navigation product data by applying thorough knowledge of adversary tactical low level and high altitude air defense systems, etc.
  • You will balance workload and provide advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of (functional area) and administrative issues.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Incumbent must be able to pass a normal adult stereo-acuity test (Stereoscopic Vision), necessary to view and exploit stereo imagery for navigational products.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

*Experience applying physical characteristics, capabilities, limitations, functional interrelationships, and doctrine for employment of potential adversary powers' weapon systems, command and control networks, military units, logistics support networks, and industrial/economic base.*Experience in applying the Law of Armed Conflict and assigning of no strike area and discerning geo-political influences on actions of target destruction within targeted nation.*Experience researching, analyzing, interpreting, evaluating, and integrating complex data and interrelated information and identifying shortfalls and areas needing improvement to senior personnel.*Experience translating requests for information into reports, studies, and detailed analyses regarding suitability for use in mission planning.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

This is a "KEY" position. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents must be removed from their active military recall status as the alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not readily available, due to the time, training, certification and proficiency requirements necessary for the position.

Incumbent must be able to pass a normal adult stereo-acuity test (Stereoscopic Vision), necessary to view and exploit stereo imagery for navigational products.

The position often requires irregular hours.

This position requires rotating shift work.

This position requires evening and weekend work.
