Help

The Associate Chief Counsel (Finance & Management) supports the administrative, financial, and managerial programs of the Office of Chief Counsel and provides advice to the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel on all management matters for the organization nationwide. The ACC (F&M) is also responsible for most administrative functions and personnel in 50 offices nationwide. An experienced administrative professional is sought to work in a fast-paced, public-sector, legal environment. The selectee will serve as the Executive Assistant to the Associate Chief Counsel assisting with the day-to-day management of the Office's administrative programs and policies.

As a Supervisory Management Analyst, you will:

  • Plan, direct, assign, and review the work of the ACC (F&M) Front Office administrative staff or other assigned administrative and/or support personnel for timeliness, technical accuracy, and completeness.
  • Gather and analyze information from a variety of sources to formulate conclusions and off er recommendations which adequately address evolving organizational needs.
  • Evaluate and advise on the organization, methods, and procedures for providing a variety of administrative support systems such as records, communications, directives, and documentation systems.
  • Coordinate the work of the ACC (F&M) Front Office with representatives from other offices to solves problems that affect offices or programs across Chief Counsel.
  • Serve as a primary point-of-contact for a variety of high-profile special projects.

For GS-14:

Specialized Experience: Your resume must detail at least one year of specialized experience which includes all of the following:

  • Developing and maintaining control systems for program management
  • Analyzing program performance using quantitative and qualitative data
  • Assessing organizational and program-level data to provide financial management support
  • Managing the full lifecycle of diverse control systems to recommend business-based decisions
  • Setting team priorities and objectives to evaluate performance

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.

Time in Grade Requirement for GS-14: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Conditions of Employment Continued:
  • Subject to a 1-year probationary period (unless already completed).
  • All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service.   • This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
