The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH is searching for a Training Manager for NSIC (GG-0343-13).

General Description:
The candidates selected for the NSIC Training Manager positions will have extensive experience in the following focus areas:
Advising Leadership: Offers expertise and guidance to all levels of leadership on matters of education, training and overall workforce development. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced level of communication skills and the ability to align training initiatives with the broader organizational goals.
Overseeing Training Programs: Managing various training initiatives, to include designing, implementing and evaluating training programs that serve the organization's needs.
Managing Training Budgets: Handling the financial aspects of training programs, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Guiding Employees & Management: Providing counsel & support to employees at all levels, helping them navigate workforce development challenges and ensuring that both individual and organizational needs are addressed.
Leading a Team: Managing a team of trainers/training professionals, overseeing project assignments and ensuring that objectives are met.
Conducting Training Courses: Engaging in direct training delivery, to include areas such as leadership development, skill-building and professional growth.
Analyzing Training Needs: Continuously evaluating workforce needs and determining where training programs should be adjusted, expanded or created to meet those needs.

Ideal Candidate:
- Experience allocating and managing a training budget to ensure cost-effective solutions
- Knowledge of NSIC missions and functions and organizational structures, resources requirements processes
- Experience collaborating with training counterparts at the AF/SF/DoD level, Intelligence Community as well as academia.
- Skill in leading groups and managing teams
- Proven background continuous improvement and innovation


Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of Air Force or DOD mission and functions, and organizational structures, resources requirements processes is highly desired
2. Knowledge of or ability to quickly comprehend Education, Training and Development principles, policies and practices.
3. Knowledge of data base management systems, requirements analysis, and data manipulation and extraction techniques
4. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting briefing and reports
5. Ability to carry out and complete assignments involving work with diverse and dynamic groups by gaining cooperation with tact, courtesy and diplomacy and moving them towards an ownership of their objective without imposing personal bias
6. Ability to maintain effective relationships with management officials, supervisors, employees, coworkers, and others to ensure cooperative resolution of problems and provide effective coordination of activities; and ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • PCS funding is authorized.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
  • Lifting of weights up to 50 pounds may be required to move supplies, or set up and arrange classroom furniture to meet classroom training needs.
  • This work is mostly sedentary and performed in an office setting.
