Duties

Help
  • Receives, identifies, sorts and feeds the various recycle processing equipment with a variety of recycle materials.
  • Moves appropriate recyclable material to the bailer machine, ensuring the material is correct for the process.
  • Identifies and separates recyclable material during the sorting process, in accordance with instructions, standard operating procedures, and policies for the recycling operation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position to include a physical.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, push and bend on a routine basis.
  • Schedule will be based on the needs of the facility. Subject to an irregular tour of duty including early mornings and evenings, weekends and holidays are required.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Applicant must have experience in recycling activities which includes receiving, storing, shipping and inventorying of varied types of equipment, supplies, and parts.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
