Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at Installation Management Command (IMCOM) supported installations.
  • Manage all aspects of personnel administration such as evaluating performance, resolving complaints and administering discipline.
  • Provide sworn testimony based on investigative findings.
  • Direct the work of assigned law enforcement officers.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-appointment and subsequent periodic medical/psychiatric evaluations to determine their ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Immunizations may be required.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires the Incumbent to obtain and maintain certifications for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /first aid techniques.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass an annual Physical Ability Test (PAT) and perform the functions of the position to standards published in Army Regulation (AR) 190-56 and maintain a level of fitness to physically perform the position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid state Motor Vehicle License and obtain and maintain local government driver's license.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully graduate from a United States Army Military Police School.
  • Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) IAW 190-56.

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing law enforcement activities such as patrol, criminal investigations, forensics, data analysis, administration, community outreach, and tactical operations; 2) Providing training and guidance on law enforcement regulations and procedures; and 3) Leading security or law enforcement teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
