Duties

As a IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Develop and govern the enterprise architecture across all domains (business, data, application, technical), ensuring alignment of IT investments with strategic business goals.
  • Develop and maintain capability maps, business processes, and requirements, and consult with business-facing projects to maintain knowledge of their progress.
  • Apply architectural frameworks (DoDAF, UAF) and modeling tools (e.g., Sparx, Army Enterprise Knowledge Repository (EKR), UML) to create clear diagrams of business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Engage with senior leaders and key stakeholders to facilitate strategy, define a strategic plan, and build deliverables that illustrate how to move the business forward.
  • Align mission and business goals to ensure that technology solutions provide real value and advance strategic objectives.
  • Analyze and manage the entire portfolio of IT assets, identifying opportunities for rationalization, cost savings, and modernization to better support business capabilities.
  • Plan, organize, manage, execute projects using best practice project management tools and techniques.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS- 13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Strategic Enterprise Architecture: Proficient in guiding business enterprise architecture, ensuring IT investments align with strategic business objectives.
  • Capability and Process Modeling: Experienced in developing and maintaining capability maps and business processes using architectural frameworks like DoDAF and UAF.
  • IT Portfolio Management: Skilled in managing the entire lifecycle of IT investments, including portfolio rationalization, optimization, prioritization, and supporting the budgeting process.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Adept at engaging with senior leaders to define strategic plans and presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical and Interpersonal Skills: Possesses strong analytical skills to identify trends and improve processes, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series. Requirements for the 2210 series as listed below: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
