Duties

Help
  • You will verify, maintain, and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports.
  • You will be examining documents for accuracy and adequacy of documentation and compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
  • You will have a knowledge of schedules, procurements instructions and procedures, travel regulations, commercial practices, trade customers and terminology of Government contracts, foreign currency, weight conversions tables, etc.
  • You will be determining pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to military members of the Navy Reserve.
  • You will be performing work to establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
  • You will be performing technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
  • You will be providing accurate and timely advice and guidance in resolving financial data.
  • You will be reviewing and analyzing various in-depth reports on a daily basis, monthly and quarterly basis to identify aged unliquidated advances.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

-Experience utilizing accounting systems, policies and procedures to examine and verify reconciled accounts.
-Experience applying administrative regulations, and procedures associated with records, and keeping track of budgetary transactions.
-Experience determining pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to reservists.
-Experience making payment collections in areas such as invoices due, indebtedness to government, etc.
-Experience researching and analyzing financial activities to verify and correct accuracy of transactions.

The Navy Reserve Force (NAVRESFOR) Comptroller Directorate is an "in the office" work environment. NAVRESFOR does offer flexible work schedules to include both an Alternate Work Schedule (Fixed 8 hours per day, gliding or maxi-flex) and a Compressed Work Schedule (RDO) and does provide for situational, ad-hoc telework.

Overtime may be required.
