Duties

Help

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing a variety of administrative management analysis, direct support services, and facility management support. Projects and assignments are characterized by assignments of substantial scope and complexity, involving relative efficiency and effectiveness of major divisions and offices and/or the development and implementation of major new management and administrative initiatives within the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia (USAO-DC).

Typical work assignments will include:

  • Conducts program analysis to improve productivity, organizational structure, functions, programs, strategic goals and administrative requirements replated to support services functions.
  • Coordinates a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair activities for relevant building issues and problematic areas.
  • Provides space management and telecommunication services by projecting and analyzing space needs, staff changes, technology approvements and collaborating with IT to analyze telecommunication needs.
  • Coordinates, enrolls, updates, and manages building access, to include removing or disabling credentials.
  • Manages accountability, assigns keys and manages key logs according to USAPP guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains, monitors and updates access to the parking garages in accordance with Justice Management Division eligibility requirements.
  • Serves as the point of contact for functions related to OSHA to ensure safety and health protocols remain in force.
  • Serves as the transit benefits coordinator by processes transit submit requests, maintaining files and processing reimbursement claims.
  • Serves as mail service coordinator by creating accounts, verifying and approving invoices for payment.
  • Assists with management of all accountable property, to include assignment receipts, lost or stolen equipment and disposition and removal of outdated equipment.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

To be qualified for the GS-11 Administrative Services Specialist, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service; or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; or a combination of specialized experience and education.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as experience applying laws, policies, practices and standard operating procedures applicable to the area of support services and facility management such as: performing and analyzing support services program requirements; providing programmatic and administrative support services in providing facility management services and managing building access and identification program; assisting with management of accountable property by performing property management administrative services; assisting in the management of health and safety issues according to Operational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards by ensuring inspections are completed, documented and discrepancies resolved; coordinating, processing and managing transit benefits and mail/courier services.

Education:
a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
OR
Combining Education and Experience:
a combination of specialized experience and education which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
