Duties

Help

Responsible for assessing students with behavioral issues, collecting data, and specials needs inclusion action information on students working with teachers and management. Works with teachers and managers to devise a behavior plan for the student and valuating the effectiveness of the plan. Compiles and interprets test results to diagnose student's conditions as assess eligibility for special services. Reports possible cases of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment to proper authorities. Determines behavior capabilities of students as they function at home and in the group. Designs behavioral interventions for students. Implements behavior support plans utilizing required Department of the Air Force assessments and inclusion actions guides. Measures goals and objectives of behavior support plans to ensure they are being met. Coordinates between teachers, parents, and the program to implement behavioral interventions. Analyzes the behavioral interventions to determine their success. Assist classroom teachers and Training and Curriculum Specialists to identify inappropriate behaviors and develop better alternatives. Mentors and coaches' teachers in facilitating behavioral interventions. Designs classes, programs, and specialist curriculum to meet the individual needs of the children.

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete assigned training, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
  • To be considered for this position, the applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years and must reside in/around the area as noted in the Job Opportunity Announcement.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or human services.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must be able to speak, read and write English. Must have a strong foundation in applied behavior analysis. Must understand behavioral characteristics associated with behavioral disorders, autism, intellectual abilities, and other behavioral issues. Has a basic understanding of instructional methods and educations curriculum. Has knowledge of and knows how to work with various support systems that are available to the community. Has the ability to train other people to apply behavior management techniques effectively. Must know and understand state and federal laws and regulations associated with special education. Ability to mentor, coach, and train classroom teachers and program management. A master's degree is preferred in early childhood education with experience in behavioral analysis. Specialty certificates in applied behavioral analysis will be accepted as emphasis to your experience in this area. Must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or human services.

Education

This position has an education requirement.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
