Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the alternate point of contact for Navy stock material under cognizance of Naval Supply Systems Command to oversee mission-essential inventory accuracy of material managed and stored by various command.
  • You will serve as the Assistant Regional Inventory Accuracy Officer (RIAO) assisting with overseeing the command wide Inventory Accuracy.
  • You will ensure material management processes in various IT systems are correctly accounting for inventory.
  • You will research, analyze, and determine solutions for situations concerning a wide variety of issues related to inventory accuracy programs.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring inventories are controlled as specified in DoD and NAVSUP policies and directives.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ability to perform causative research for physical inventory adjustments and understand the causal relationships between erroneous supply processing and inventory problems.; 2) Knowledge of standard statistical sampling concepts, including confidence intervals under a normal distribution.; 3) Participate in planning initiatives that may influence inventory records accuracy, such as major re-warehousing efforts, revisions to receiving/receipt control procedures, or development/implementation of new warehouse management systems.; 4) Assist with audit preparation, site visits, post-audit processes, including material management processes such as goods issue and receipt posting.; 5) Perform analysis, problem determination and draft potential resolution of inventory accuracy processes.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management.

The work is performed in an office environment. However, numerous visits to work sites may be required during problem solving, day-to-day duties, systems/procedures development and or implementation. At some sites, regular and recurring exposure to moderate discomforts such as high levels of noise or high temperatures in warehouses. Employees may be required to use protective gear such as safety shoes and glasses.

Several vacancies may be filled.
