Duties

Help

  1. Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling.
  2. Determines stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
  3. Performs property accountability and management. Reconciles property record balances using property inventory balances.
  4. Performs document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions.
  5. Provides assistance to customers, storage depots, or other organizations.
  6. Performs general clerical support work. Maintains and annotates files with minimal errors providing for easy and timely retrieval/location of material.

  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • May be required to maintain a Government Purchase Card (GPC) for Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) mission essential (wartime and peacetime) equipment/supplies in a fast-paced environment for training and deployments.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours and tours of duty such as rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, call back, uncommon tours of duty, holidays, etc.
  • May be required to travel TDY as directed by management, sometimes on short notice and including overnight stays, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • May be required to clean up outside building and adjoining grounds as directed.
  • May be required to perform a variety of material handling tasks specific to mission essential pilot training and deployment operations.
  • May be required to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office functions (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office).
  • Position may include training in the carrying and use of firearms due to incumbent being required to carry firearms in the performance of supply duties entailing (cont'd)
  • (cont'd) providing high degree of protection in the inventory and issuance of War Readiness weapons.
  • A pre-employment physical examination will be required.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. May be directed to perform additional duties as assigned to accomplish LRS mission and objectives.

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. The Lautenberg Amendment applies to convictions in civilian courts, general or special court-martial, and civilian criminal felony convictions. It is a felony for anyone with a qualifying conviction to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunitions, and prohibits sales or other dispositions of firearms and ammunition to such individuals.
  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical- Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.


In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to specific assignment. Intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for urgent, critical shortage items.



FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods; and policies and procedures for requisitioning and issuing equipment and/or parts.
2. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system.
3. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
4. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
5. Ability to conduct extensive searches for information and to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.


PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
