A GS-0308-9, RECORDS & INFO MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT):
Assists in the management of the Records Management (RM) and Records Life Cycle Program for the assigned Group/Squadron/Flight according to Air Force directives.
Aids the organization with meeting statutory records management requirements, to include training,policies, and technologies used to identify, organize, protect, share, archive, and dispose of official government records through the use of automated management systems, instructions,and general guidance from higher headquarters.
Utilizing various information systems,maintains user access controls, electronic records structure, permissions, storage, password controls and procedures using applicable security policies and regulations.
Implements policy and guidance governing the implementation of knowledge management initiatives.
Manages reports, matrices, and requests for information, as well as collaborative planning tools to ensure timely delivery of decision-quality information to organizational stakeholders.
Assists with the management of processes for the assigned Group/Squadron/Flight to plan,coordinate, share and control information.
Manages content to support and promote knowledge management.
Supports the continuous development of new communities of practice.
Validates all data related business requirements.
Provides customer service by assisting and educating users on authoritative data sources, data services, and presentation tools to meet organizational objectives.
Aids non-homogenous work centers throughout the wing to integrate planning,development and implementation of knowledge programs and systems.
Assists Continuous Process Improvement techniques to improve mission and business processes.
Uses various software to enhance access to relevant cross-functional information.
Provides EIS web management and administrative support.
Ensures site content adheres to applicable policies and standards.
Assists leadership in moving towards implementation of effective knowledge management practices.
Promotes use of knowledge management and information sharing practices.
General understanding of Air organizations, missions and procedures, and recommends appropriate technologies to support current policies and practices.
Facilitate a clear understanding of the needs and requirements of information required by the end-users.Encourages knowledge sharing between information owners and users through the operational processes and systems.
Facilitates collaboration for the assigned Group/Squadron/Flight through use of the latest technologies.
Designs, builds and maintains knowledge initiatives.
Maintains integrative dashboards of data to enable informed decision-making.
Advises units on improvement of work methods and procedures through information management automation.
Provides software support.
Advises Leadership on enterprise-wide data governance frameworks with a focus on the improvement of data quality and the protections of sensitive data through the use of standards,principles, governance, metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture to change organizational behaviors.
Provides guidance and training concerning information privacy,confidentiality, security, disclosure and sharing of information collected regardless of media.

Duties and responsibilities may significantly impact the environment. You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission.
Position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be required for duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Designation will not exceed 14 calendar days/year unless approved by the TAG.
The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
Conducts travel to and from offsite worksite(s) from the normal work area to perform assigned duties, including Operating Locations (OL) and/or Geographically Separated Units (GSU). Distances involved, may involve one or more overnight stays.
Must meet requirements IAW DoD 8570.01-M (replaced by DoDM 8140.03, February 15, 2023), Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Clinger Cohen Act of 1996.
Must obtain Special Experience Identifier (SEI) 264, IAW current AF directives. Information Assurance – Technical Level II (IAT II), IAW current AF directives.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 24 months experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Combination of Specialized Experience and Education:

The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at GS-9.
